How it works — the desk-confirm model
The big booking sites rent you a machine: an account, a calendar that pretends to know everything, and a price that grows at checkout. We run a desk instead. A person confirms your room with the owner before your money moves — because on this coast, that is how things actually get done, and it is more honest.
You pick a stay and send one request
Photos, rooms, and amenities are the property's real facts — and where a fact is still being confirmed with the hotel, the page says so in plain sight instead of papering over it.
The desk confirms with the owner
Within hours, the desk confirms your exact room, your exact dates, and your total price with the property. Dates on this site are requests, never fake guarantees.
You decide on one all-in number
The desk brings back one total. It is the whole price — our increase is already inside it, and there is no checkout screen where it can grow. You say yes, and only then is anything booked or paid.
The Never-Beaten Rule
Our final price for a room will never exceed the same room's final price on the big platforms. If the math ever crosses — if their checkout total, fees and all, comes in under ours — our increase yields, not you. We would rather earn less on a booking than have a guest pay more for finding us first. That is the rule of the house, and it does not bend.
How we compare
| The big platforms | Caribbean Vacations | |
|---|---|---|
| Steps to a confirmed stay | 5–6 screens, after you build an account — on some, after you upload ID | 3: pick, request, confirm |
| Account required | Yes on Airbnb and Vrbo; pushed hard on the rest | Never |
| Card needed to ask | Yes — holds are placed before a host even answers | No card anywhere on this site |
| When you learn the true total | At checkout — service fees of 6–16% appear in the breakdown | One all-in total, confirmed by a person before you commit |
| Availability | A calendar that looks certain — until it isn't | Your dates are a request; the desk confirms them with the owner, within hours |
| Who answers you | A help center | The desk — people on this coast who know the property |
Plain questions, plain answers
Is my room guaranteed when I send a request?
No — and anyone who guarantees a small coast hotel's room from a web form is guessing. Your request is confirmed or honestly declined by the desk, within hours. A confirmation from the desk is a promise from people who know the owner.
When do I pay?
After the desk confirms and you accept the total. The desk tells you exactly how payment works for that property before you commit — no surprises, no holds placed "just in case."
What does the desk earn?
One increase, designed at 15% on the owner's net rate, already inside the single price you see quoted back to you — 10% for Gathering Week volunteers and $1 Army members. There are no guest-side service fees, no cleaning-fee games, nothing added later.
Why no instant booking?
Because instant booking is the machine pretending. We would rather take hours and be right. If your dates can't be had, the desk says so plainly and offers the nearest honest alternative.
What about flights?
The same desk hunts them. Check airfare — one request, and the desk returns 2–3 best total prices for you to choose from.
